REPORT ON TRAUMA CENTER MEDICARE CLAIMS DATA

TCAA is pleased to provide members with the second annual Trauma Center Medicare Claims Data Report Card. The information included in these reports was obtained by analyzing calendar year 2022 Medicare inpatient and outpatient hospital claims data for trauma centers.

Each trauma center report contains national and center specific data. The report is designed to help your trauma center review your trauma service charging practices as well as compare your center to other trauma centers. Because the codes used to report trauma services on hospital claims are the same for all patients, analyzing Medicare trauma claims and understanding opportunities will help trauma programs learn where to improve overall.

Disclaimer: Data for Children’s and Military Hospitals are excluded from the Report Cards due to the unavailability of claims and the inapplicability of the Medicare payment systems to these facilities.
