TCAA & ASPR Meeting

TCAA President, Jennifer Ward, had the opportunity to meet with representatives from the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response (ASPR). They discussed opportunities for future TCAA and ASPR collaborative initiatives. Specifically, TCAA recently updated their National Trauma Center Database which includes the number, type and locations of trauma centers in the U.S. A gap analysis was identified as a crucial next step to determine trauma center sustainability and service availability. In addition, TCAA is available to assist with identifying ways that grants can be used to strengthen access to trauma care in the United States and in providing expertise to address specific challenges and goals. We will continue to keep you updated as we progress.

Safe States Alliance - Injury Prevention Survey

The Trauma Center Association of America (TCAA) is partnering with the Safe States Alliance, National Association of County and City Health Officials (NACCHO), and fellow Trauma Prevention Coalition members on a project to strengthen Level I and Level II Trauma Center Injury and Violence Prevention (IVP) programs and improve coordination and collaboration with public health efforts.

To further inform this effort, we are conducting a survey of Injury Prevention Coordinators (IPC) at Level I and II Trauma Centers across the nation. We respectfully request that you or a designated representative (preferably the IPC) complete this survey by 6/30/17.

Your input is extremely valuable and will help ensure that subsequent developments are in-line with and representative of the current landscape of trauma centers. Your responses will be anonymous, and your personal information will not be shared.

On behalf of TCAA and the Trauma Prevention Coalition, we thank you for your time and contribution to this important effort. Please see this letter to learn more. Any questions related to this project can be directed to the Safe States Program Manager: Julie Alonso

For ease of access, you can access the survey at this link.

2017 TCAA Member Poll

According to the results of the recent 2017 member’s poll, the top three services used are downloadable documents on the website, Ask Traumacare and Trauma Center Finance and Resource Manual. In addition, the top compelling benefit or reason for joining or maintaining a TCAA membership is access to information or help with billing and collecting trauma activation or ICU fees. If you haven’t had your initial finance call with the TCAA or you just need a refresher, please call the office at 704-360-4665 to schedule your call.
