Your Input Is Valuable - Determine Your Worth: Physician Compensation Study

TCAA is updating its information for Physician Compensation as derived from hospitals. Data compiled will result in a report sorted by region, national, and trauma center designation level. All data is subject to the TCAA Security and Confidentiality Agreement. TCAA members are encouraged to participate so that results are valid.

Your Trauma Center’s data is NOT identifiable!

Reports generated from the information collected are not identified by source. Due to the sensitivity of this data, the summary report will only be available to your hospital’s CEO or other designated staff. You need this data to establish fair market value via third party.

If you have not received your study, please contact Jennifer at the office at 704-360-4665 or Jennifer@traumacenters.org. We strongly encourage you to review the questions prior to completing the study. The deadline for this study is December 31, 2018. Please do not hesitate to call the office with questions and we will provide you with a tutorial.

New Committee Leaders

TCAA is proud to announce a new leadership team on the Injury Prevention Committee. We would like to congratulate the committee’s new Chair, Laura Gamino, and Chair Elect, Dwayne Smith.

Laura Gamino is a native Oklahoman. She attended Central State University and graduated magna cum laude with her bachelor’s degree in nursing. She completed her MPH with a focus on Health Promotion Sciences from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. She has worked at Integris Baptist Medical Center, for a physician at Mercy Health Center, as a contractor with the Oklahoma Board of Nursing, and at the Oklahoma City-County Health Department. For the past eleven years, Laura has worked as the Injury Prevention Coordinator for Trauma Services at OU Medical Center, the state’s only Level I trauma center. She also contributes to research projects working toward improving trauma patient outcomes. Since last year, Laura is also the coordinator of the Safe Kids Oklahoma City Metro Coalition which meets monthly at The Children’s Hospital of OU Medical Center. Laura is a certified passenger safety instructor and participates in community car seat checks. She also sits on the Oklahoma Injury Prevention Advisory Committee. Her favorite part of her work is focusing on the safety of our citizens with the goal of keeping them out of our trauma center!

Dwayne Smith, M.Ed., MCHES®, has worked in a variety of injury prevention program roles at the local, state, and national levels for the past 24 years. He is currently a Senior Strategist for Population Health at Children's Hospital Colorado, the state’s only ACS-verified Level I Pediatric Trauma Center. In this role he serves as the Injury Prevention Program Manager, which includes oversight of the comprehensive programmatic and financial resources for the hospital’s community-focused I.P. education and outreach initiatives. Among these responsibilities are guiding and identifying funding for programs aimed at reducing motor vehicle occupant injuries, home injuries, and recreational injuries. Dwayne coordinates the Safe Kids Colorado state office, contributes local coalition oversight for Safe Kids Colorado Springs and Safe Kids Denver Metro, and serves on the Colorado Child Fatality prevention System Committee. Prior to coming to Children’s Colorado in 2012, Dwayne worked for the previous 17 years as the I.P. Program Manager at AnMed Health, a Level II Trauma Center in Anderson, South Carolina, and in I.P. Coordinator roles with the DeKalb County Board of Health in Georgia, and the South Carolina Department of Health & Environmental Control. Dwayne has been recognized on numerous occasions for his strategic planning efforts, proficiency in grant writing, innovative approaches to using injury data to inform program development, and for public policy and legislative advocacy efforts. A credentialed Master Certified Health Education Specialist and one of the nation’s original and longest serving national Child Passenger Safety Technicians, Dwayne holds a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Health Promotion & Behavior from the University of Georgia.
