ADVOCACY

2019 Lobby Day and Advocacy Institute

TCAA will host its annual Advocacy Institute and Lobby Day February 12-13, 2109 in Washington, DC. On Tuesday, February 12, 2019, TCAA will offer the Trauma Advocacy Institute. This year we are pleased to host the event in the ASPR Conference Center of the Thomas P. O’Neill Building. Dr. Kevin Yeskey, ASPR Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary, will kick the event off by briefing participants on the Regional Disaster Health Response followed by a Q&A session. Our team from Winning Strategies Washington will also share TCAA legislative priorities, talking points and guidance on communicating with members on the hill. On Wednesday, February 13, 2019, participants will meet with members of Congress to encourage continued support of trauma related issues and funding. Job Announcement: HHS/ASPR Director, Office of Emergency Management and Medical Operations

HHS/ASPR is a looking for a qualified candidate for this senior level position within ASPR that is critical to operationalizing ASPR’s public health and medical disaster preparedness, response, and recovery mission. The Director of the Office of Emergency Management and Medical Operations provides strategic and expert advice to ASPR’s Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response on operational readiness, recovery, and response activities to ensure efficient and effective coordination of Departmental efforts to prepare for, respond to and recover from public health and medical emergencies. The position will administratively oversee a variety of programmatic initiatives and authorities such as the Hospital Preparedness Program, Medical Reserve Corps Program, National Disaster Medical System, the Recovery Program and others. This position will require working across the HHS Operating and Staff Divisions (e.g., CDC, FDA), other federal agencies (e.g., DoD, VA), and State, territorial, tribal, local, and private industry partners to align our common missions.

TCAA is updating its information for Physician Compensation as derived from hospitals. Data compiled will result in a report sorted by region, national, and trauma center designation level. All data is subject to the TCAA Security and Confidentiality Agreement. TCAA members are encouraged to participate so that results are valid.

Your Trauma Center’s data is NOT identifiable!

Reports generated from the information collected are not identified by source. Due to the sensitivity of this data, the summary report will only be available to your hospital’s CEO or other designated staff. You need this data to establish fair market value via third party.

We strongly encourage you to review the questions prior to completing the study. The deadline for this study is December 31, 2018.
