$2 Trillion Coronavirus Package Headed to Senate Floor for a Vote this Evening

The Senate is gearing up to pass the biggest economic stimulus in American history, the massive $2 trillion Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Stimulus (CARES) Act. The bipartisan relief package hit some technical and substantive snags this afternoon, but Majority Leader Mitch McConnell intends to vote on the bill this evening.

On the House side, Speaker Pelosi is pushing to vote on the measure Thursday and to pass the CARES Act under a procedure called Unanimous Consent, which would NOT require Members of Congress to travel across the country to vote on the package. Any Member can request a recorded vote in the chamber, and it remains to be seen if a recorded vote will be demanded. The next stop after House passage is the President's desk for signature.

The latest version of the bill was circulated around 8:00 PM this evening. Our team is scouring through the 883-page bill, and below please find links to our preliminary analysis on many provisions in the package by category.
