The House reconvenes Tuesday at 2 p.m. for legislative business and is expected to consider measures under suspension of the rules. On Wednesday, the chamber is expected to consider a bill (HR 5698) that would permit the federal prosecution, in certain circumstances, of individuals who knowingly cause serious bodily injury to a law enforcement officer.

The House may also begin consideration of a bill (S 2372) that would consolidate the VA's community health care programs and establish a commission to review the department's health infrastructure.

On Thursday or Friday, the House is expected to vote on the farm bill (HR 2), which would impose stricter work requirements for adults seeking Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits and create new job training programs.



The Senate convenes at 3 p.m. to resume considering the nomination of Michael Y. Scudder to be a U.S. circuit judge for the 7th Circuit, with a vote scheduled for 5:30 p.m. There will also be a vote on the nomination of Amy St. Eve to be a U.S. circuit judge for the 7th Circuit.
