21st Annual Southeastern Trauma Symposium presented by the Trauma Association of South Carolina

The Southeastern Trauma Symposium is a two-day conference designed to include interests of all trauma care professionals. The conference addresses the clinical management of the trauma patient beginning with pre-hospital through acute care and rehabilitation. Trauma professionals will present the most current concepts in trauma care.

 Following this symposium, the trauma care provider will be able to:

1. Identify lessons learned from the largest mass shooting incident in the US to date.

2. Prepare for and discuss the psychological effects of dealing with a crisis.

3. Discuss the importance and need for pediatric readiness within South Carolina Emergency Rooms.

4. Identify current and emerging trends in obstetrical trauma, burn, endovascular, spinal cord, airway, and concussion management.

5. Evaluate the role of accurate clinical documentation, coding, reporting, and research within the trauma registry.

6. Identify and understand the clinician’s role in organ donation.



Participants will receive an email following the activity allowing them to print a transcript showing their credit earned. This email will be delivered approximately two weeks after the event.



12.75 CEU’s have been approved by SC DHEC Division of EMS and Trauma.



American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) accepts AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ from organizations accredited by the ACCME.  See Continuing Medical Education below for the number of credits approved.

Parking is provided in the rear lot of the convention center.  For guests staying at the Hampton Inn, parking is available at no charge at the Hampton Inn.
