American Health Care Act (AHCA)

Republicans in the U.S. House of Representatives unveiled the American Health Care Act (AHCA) legislation to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act (ACA).  The legislation consists of one drafted by the Energy and Commerce Committee and another by the Ways and Means Committee.  The latest amendment ends Medicaid expansion effective December 31, 2017, allows states to implement work requirements for certain Medicaid recipients, provides for $1 billion to create the American Health Care Implementation Fund and ends most ACA taxes at the end of this year among other provisions.
