ACS-COT Verification Program Updates: Change Log & Clarification Document-1

Greetings from the Verification Team:

 

The attached documents are the monthly Verification Change Log and Clarification Document updates through the end of June. These documents may be accessed through the VRC webpage at www.facs.org/quality-programs/trauma/vrc/resources.

 

Going forward, changes to the criteria will be published in the Verification Change Log, and any clarifications to the criteria will be published in the Clarification Document.

 

Updates to the Verification Change Log:

  • No updates at this time.

Updates to the Clarification Document:

  • CD 11-64, CME for ICU Intensivists and Hospitalists (page 53)
  • CD 18-3, All patients that meet NTDS Trauma Inclusion criteria with a hospital stay of > 24 hours, 80% must receive SBIRT screening. (page 69)
  • CDs 10-9, 10-10, 10-11 and all of Chapter 19 – refer to the VRC statement on research for Level I trauma centers (pages 74-75).

Stakeholder Comment Website:

 

The online stakeholder comment website remains open for your comments regarding the standards published in the Resources for Optimal Care of the Injured Patient.

 

The following chapters will undergo revision in June:

  • Chapter 9 – Orthopaedic Surgery
  • Chapter 10 – Pediatric Surgery
